How Much Does a Small-Business Website Cost in the U.S.?

A “website” might mean three informational pages or a system with multiple languages, booking, ecommerce, customer accounts and a backend. Comparing totals without comparing scope makes quotes misleading.

Start with the delivery model, then separate pages from features. The figures below describe TaulTech’s existing template-hosting and custom-development options; the Starter subscription has its own scope and pricing.

Two delivery models

Four service tiers

Starter: $399 setup + $69/$99/$199 monthly; Essential: $800 setup + $109/$199/$349 monthly; Pro: $1,500 setup + $269/$399/$599 monthly. Essential bilingual: +$200 setup and +$20 monthly. No first-year lock-in. Custom development from $5,000 with prepaid milestones. See the quote page.

Page counts are only part of the budget

These page estimates apply only to custom development, not the three monthly packages:

  • Simple informational pages: $350–500, such as Home, About and Contact.
  • Complex pages: $600–900, such as services, products, portfolios or industry pages.
  • Reusable detail templates, such as product or project details, are assessed by scope.

A five-page site is not necessarily five simple pages. Filters, dynamic content and complex comparisons increase work.

Admin systems and business features

Pro includes an admin system and one business feature. More complex backends needing custom data structures and permissions are custom development, quoted by scope; additional features are quoted separately.

Five questions to ask about a quote

  1. Who controls the domain account?
  2. Can the source code move to another provider?
  3. What are the first-year and renewal costs?
  4. How many revisions, content entries and launch tasks are included?
  5. Are subscriptions, processing fees and hosting separate?

An inexpensive quote with unclear ownership or renewal terms can cost more later. Read the ownership checklist.

Template or custom?

Standard pages, booking links and basic contact features often fit template hosting. Special visuals, a complex backend, business integrations or independent control may justify custom work. Buy what you need today and leave a path to grow rather than purchasing every possible module.
