Chinese Restaurant Websites: Menus, Reservations and Online Ordering

Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Restaurant visitors usually want specific answers: Are you open, where are you, what is on the menu, can I reserve a table and can I order takeout? A beautiful video does little if it hides those answers.

For Chinese restaurants in the U.S., Chinese dish names preserve meaning while clear English descriptions help unfamiliar guests understand ingredients, preparation and spice levels.

Five useful pages

1. Home

Show the restaurant name, cuisine or specialty, city, hours information and the main actions: Menu, Reserve and Order Online. Only show actions you actually offer.

2. A readable bilingual menu

A blurry scan or PDF forces mobile users to zoom and makes content harder for search engines to interpret. Use page text with Chinese names, understandable English names, brief descriptions, current prices, spice and vegetarian notes, relevant allergen information, sections for meals or drinks, and a last-updated date. Guests should confirm allergies directly with the restaurant rather than relying on icons alone.

3. Hours and visiting

Include daily hours, breaks, holiday changes, address, phone, parking and public transit. Keep these consistent with Google Business Profile, Yelp and your reservation provider.

4. About and cuisine

Describe your regional cuisine, specialties, chef or family story. An English-speaking guest may not know how a dish differs from familiar American Chinese food. Specific descriptions communicate more than “authentic and delicious.”

5. Contact, reservations and ordering

Separate phone, reservations, delivery and pickup links. Give each action a stable URL that you can also use on Google Search and Maps. Google’s business-link guidance explains these action-specific links.

You may not need a new reservation or ordering system

If you already use OpenTable, Resy, Toast or another provider, a clear link or supported embed may be sufficient. A custom system adds table management, orders, payments, refunds, notifications and operating rules. Consider it only when existing costs or workflows do not fit and you can support ongoing maintenance.

Bilingual coverage goes beyond the menu

Guests also need hours, reservation policies, parking and contact information. Cover the entire essential journey in both languages. TaulTech’s restaurant template estimates use a shared bilingual module for the key pages, so a readable menu does not lead into policies available only in another language.

Local search basics

Accurate Restaurant structured data can describe your name, address, phone, cuisine, hours and menu URL. Content must be truthful and accessible. Check it with Rich Results Test and URL Inspection; Google’s LocalBusiness documentation includes a restaurant example. Structured data does not guarantee rankings or special results.

Before launch

Check mobile Menu, Reserve and Order buttons; readable, current menus; identical prices across languages; holiday-hour updates; matching addresses across platforms; links to the correct location; and a clear separation of platform fees from development costs.

A stable bilingual information hub connected to your existing operating tools is usually a practical first step.
